32% of the city is covered by the green. Parks, green squares and 1779 ha of forests within the city boundaries constitute a very specific and healthy microclimate. There are two nature reserves in Białystok itself, covering an area of 105 ha. These are the remains of Knyszyn Forest. The agglomeration adjoins the territory of Narwiański Natural Reserve. Białystok is the greenest city in Poland.
