The concept of putting the elevation of houses at the Koszciuszki

 Square in order
from Spółdzielcza street to Zamenhofa street:

The development includes 9 facades of buildings at the Kościuszki Square marked with numbers: 18 ÷ 32 and among others refers to the modernization of their color scheme, the carpentry of windows and doors, roof shapes and structuring the arrangement of informational and advertising elements. In the case of houses marked with numbers: 18, 20, 24 it is expected to carry out repairs of their facade while maintaining the existing forms of architectural details and introducing only minor changes in color. The more significant changes, both in color and compositional solutions for elevation - by changing the size of window openings, the introduction of the peaks, pilasters and cornices above the windows and between the floors - will be proposed for the facades of the buildings with numbers: 22, 26, 26A, 28 and 30.

In order to unify the entire frontage stylistically, what is expected is:
  • the introduction of "heavy" rustication on the ground floors of all buildings, highlighting the massiveness and dumpiness of the buildings, clear vertical divisions that divide elevations in the part of 1st and 2nd floor, single color scheme of windows and doors (brown on the ground floors, white on the upper floors) and divisions of window carpentry into 4 ÷ 8 glass panes.
  • the need to rebuild roofs of existing buildings marked with numbers: 22, 26, 26A, 28, 30, by raising them to the ordinate with a value characteristic for the ridge of the building No. 24 and introducing the dormers in the roofs that light up attics.
  • the substitution of roof coverings of all buildings with the ceramic tile of pantile kind in a brick-red color. It is assumed that the chimneys will receive new plaster in light gray. The flashing of roofs, dormers, gutters and downspouts shall be made of sheet metal in color of brick-red or dark gray.

The proposed solutions for the modernization of the frontage are the result of the analysis of local conditions and historical materials relating to formation of the northern part of frontage of Kosciuszki Square. A drawing made in the 50s of XX century in the studio of architect Stanislaw Bukowski was a special formal inspiration; it shows the concept of reconstructing the northern part of frontage of Kosciuszki Square.

The passage from Zamenhofa street to Sienkiewicza street:

The development includes the frontage with 4 facades of buildings at the Kościuszki Square marked with numbers: 16, 8, 6 and Sienkiewicza 3, and among others refers to the modernization of their color scheme, the carpentry of windows and doors, roof shapes and structuring the arrangement of informational and advertising elements. Furthermore, the concept also includes the eastern facade of the building at Sienkiewicza 3 street.

In the case of building at Kościuszki Square 16 what is only assumed is the removal of air conditioners which are visible from the surface of the square and are cluttering this frontage.
In order to unify the above-mentioned buildings stylistically, what is expected is the introduction of rustication on the ground floors of all buildings, highlighting the massiveness and dumpiness of the buildings, clear vertical divisions that divide elevations in the part of 1st and 2nd floor, single color scheme of windows and doors (brown on the ground floors, white on the upper floors) and divisions of window carpentry into 4 ÷ 8 glass panes (in the buildings no. 8 and 6). What is also expected is the need to rebuild roofs of existing buildings at Kościuszki Square which are marked with numbers: 6 and 8, and at Sienkiewicza 3 street by raising them to the ordinate with a value characteristic for the ridge of the building No. 16 and introducing the dormers in the roofs that light up attics. It is expected to substitute the roof coverings of all buildings with the ceramic tile of pantile kind in a brick-red color. The chimneys will receive new plaster in light gray or white. The flashing of roofs, dormers, gutters and downspouts shall be made of sheet metal in color of brick-red or dark gray.
